Released in 2016, Say It Out Loud is the second album from Los Angeles ska-punk powerhouse The Interrupters, and a record that finds the band sharpening everything that made their debut so infectious. Produced by Tim Armstrong of Rancid, the album combines the bounce and offbeat energy of classic 2 Tone ska with the urgency, grit and hooks of modern punk.

Fronted by the unmistakable voice and charisma of Aimee Interrupter, the band delivers fourteen melodic, high-energy tracks that balance personal struggles with themes of empowerment, loyalty, social control and resistance. Songs like “By My Side,” “She Got Arrested,” “Babylon,” “Control,” “Divide Us” and “Loyal” showcase a band that knows exactly how to turn serious subjects into irresistibly catchy punk anthems.

Recorded partly at Armstrong’s own studio and partly at Travis Barker’s Opra Studios, Say It Out Loud feels polished without losing the raw, street-level energy that defines The Interrupters. It’s bright, danceable and full of attitude, but there’s plenty of substance underneath the sing-along choruses.
