Throbbing Gristle's second album was an anomaly in a catalogue of anomalies. Almost a collection of solo tracks from each Throbbing Gristle member, DOA built on both the subversive nature of TG and their developing musicality. The provocative cover (plus inserts with the initial copies) provoked outrage while the music within probed the outer regions of electronica, noise, power-electronics and, in places, an emerging, warped pop sensibility.
