Alexisonfire's 2004 sophomore album Watch Out! found the band entering a proper studio with their now-longtime producer Julius Butty for the first time, leaning into their more melodic elements, and embracing a more atmospheric sound inspired by bands like Mogwai and The Appleseed Cast. It found them polishing up the edges of the melodic post-hardcore sound that they had been honing since their 2002 debut LP, and it was the first of many times that Alexisonfire would make a clear step forward and never look back.
